What one listening to and trying to internalize this message has to do to best receive it is to not view this as an attack against individual people (though the term people is used), but rather, as a SYSTEM of white supremacy and domination under which we ALL have been/are being indoctrinated. If viewed in that manner, it wont seem like you are going/thinking against others (those white people one may have as friends); rather, gaining a better and more accurate understanding of how said system works simultaneously to benefit one group (i.e.: white/european people) while victimizing others (i.e.: people of colour, specifically, Afrikan People). That system is still in effect today, and purposely so. Once one recognizes that fact, one can better navigate the political realities of people locally and globally... particularly those suffering variably by oppression. It is only when these facts are denied, regardless as to whether the denial is by the oppressor or the oppressed, that the situation becomes psychologically and materially problematic, and is that which continues to fuel the system.
