What pisses me off more than anything is character assassination about an individual you dont know or understand. Ive already gone off on a few beat writers and radio guys I know that ate this Desean Jackson story up because of a misunderstanding of culture. The effects of racism are STILL alive and well! It started with Richard Sherman getting called a thug because he speaks with bravado and now D Jax is getting abused by an organization that simply could have just pushed the story that the guy misses meetings or didnt buy into the system instead of making him out to be a gang member in the shadows. Lemme keep it 100: Babe Ruth used to party on Lucky Lucianos dime, Joe DiMaggio hung out with Italian Mafia Kingpins, and Sandy Koufax had Jewish Mobsters as body guards. Know your history before you speak and stop with your stupid ass comments like you majored in LB Crips Gang Sign Deciferation! Yes I am so mad I just made up a word and a major. Even the LAPD has refuted this leaked story by a site that nobody in New Jersey had even heard of and publicly said he is not being investigated for anything. How many celebrities have lost their job because of false information that we ate up because of how juicy the story was? I just finished watching the 30 for 30 on Coach Jim Valvano (and the 1983 National Champion NC State Wolfpack) for the second time the other day and look how an article in the newspaper almost ruined him even though 99.9% of what was printed was inaccurate. Imagine if Jimmy V didnt get cancer and didnt have an opportunity to show who he truly was after that garbage story. What would history say about him now? How many of us understand what it is like to be targeted by the national media? Id like to remind tv analysts, radio hosts, beat writers, bloggers, and columnists that cover sports, music, and entertainment that you got into the profession to bring truth to the masses and cover industries that you love. Ratings, attention, and money are not more important than an accurate story by legit sources and it is sad that long after your story was proven bereft of truth you ride on those coattails to industry stardom while you rob a man of his image. Its hard enough being under the heat of the spotlight. I also have to say as fans if you havent learned by now STOP believing everything you read. The reason ignorance and falsehood prevails is because the consumer fans the flames. Absolutely disgusting and disheartening to me. Understand as a Redskins fan I dont like either Sherman or D Jax even though I respect their abilities as players and because I dont know them personally I dont pass judgement on who they are or where they came from. People are so simple.
