What really worries me the most is that the yardstick to measure the worth of any law used to be how it enforces justice for the common good of the people and the sustainability of liberty. Now a law is measured on how the law relates to other laws? This is setting up a scenario for the erosion of our freedom. When a judge instructs a jury that they are to disregard any feelings or prejudices toward the law and present a verdict of guilt or innocence solely on the evidence presented the Spirit and Purpose of our Constitution has been violated. Jurors are to assemble to determine not only guilt or innocence but to review the law that was broken and determine if it is just or illegal. That is their duty. . Laws are best enforced and sustained by the people who have to live under them, that is freedom.
