What reason would a Supreme Being have for intervening in our affairs? What would a Supreme Being accomplish by intervening in our affairs? Religions such as the Abrahamic religions state that a Supreme Being intervenes in various affairs, but why would such a being do so? Would it not make more sense to have created the universe in a way so that no post-creation intervention would be necessary? I suspect that the Supreme Being created the universe in a way so that no intervention was ever necessary, and I do not believe that the Supreme Being ever intervened. Living beings have the ability to survive and adapt without the assistance of an active Supreme Being. The Supreme Being, I believe, gave living beings such as ourselves the ability to reason and support ourselves without assistance.
