What say you? Our guy is accosted by an angry driver in an apparent road rage incident. He doesnt know the reason, but as hes parking in a large parking lot, the other driver parks so close to him that he cant get his door all the way open. When he opens it partially, the other guy slams it on his legs and inflicts him with large bruises. The other man is shouting at him and threatening him. Our guy has his legal concealed carry permit and has his pistol with him, but he also has his young son in the back seat, safely secured in a car seat. He doesnt want to draw, but hes frightened and shaking. Feeling the strong threat to his person -- a threat that could involve his son, he tells the other guy that he has a weapon and other guy should go. Other guy keeps shouting/screaming at him. So he draws his weapon and tells the other guy to leave, which he does. Other guy calls the cops. Several WEEKS later, our guy gets a call from a detective. When they finally speak directly, our guy tells him that hes retained an attorney. Detective ridicules him for getting an attorney and says that he should keep that attorney on retainer because youre going to need him when I issue a warrant for your arrest. That night, the cops show up late at our guys place. Theyre screaming at him and pounding on his door when he calls us after 10 p.m. While he doesnt answer the door, his wife asks them if they have a warrant. No answer. His son is crying and frightened. The cops tow his car. Neither he nor his attorney (Terry Ryan) have seen a warrant of any kind. Terry calls the detective and tells him hed better have a warrant. Detective hasnt called back in more than 24 hours. No surprise -- its Aurora cops.
