What shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me? I - TopicsExpress

What shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.” (Psa.116:12,13) This Psalm 116 is a very special one. Our Saviour Jesus Christ, on His last supper, as per the practice of Jews, sang this Psalm, passed to Gethsemane, surrendered Himself for the death on the cross and brought salvation for the entire world. The Psalmist says, “The pains of death surrounded me, I found trouble and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I implore You, deliver my soul.” When he called upon the name of the Lord and implored to Him, the Lord did good to his soul. He delivered his soul from death, his eyes from tears, and his feet from falling. Indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. Yes, the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; He will swallow up death forever. He will deliver the eyes from tears. He will give healing. The Psalmist says, “You have delivered my feet from falling.” The Psalmist also says, “If I say, ‘My foot slips,’ Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. He shall pluck my feet out of the net. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. I will escape that and cross over.” He says, “O Lord, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have loosed my bonds. I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.” He humbles himself and calls upon the Lord. The Lord is over all is rich to all who call upon Him. Let us call upon Him with our whole heart. Prayer: O Lord God! I exalt you and humble myself and bow before you. You are holy. Bless me for the glory of your name. Amen!
