What shall we tell the Karimojong whose mineral prosperity is - TopicsExpress

What shall we tell the Karimojong whose mineral prosperity is abused and ferried to other regions day by day? What shall we tell the youth who had hope that a related factory would be erected here to fashion jobs for them and yet now the language of a factory is a mere illusion? What shall we tell the parents who see the future of their children vanish in the Ugandan streets even while we have a ministry specifically charged with the responsibility of developing Karamoja? What shall we tell a Karimojong trader who takes 3 days travelling from Moroto to Soroti and from Abim to Lira and from Kaabong to Mbale for the reason of poor roads? What shall we tell the Karimomojong who have been hoodwinked to believe that their region has to be considered last after the rest of the country has benefited from the national bounty? The answer lies in this man with indisputable commitment and vision for the development of our land! The march to the realization of our dream has been a long, arduous and is still hazardous one. I now finally wish to appeal to you, wherever you are, to participate fully today and tomorrow for the realization of our dream. May I enjoin you all to regard this solemn opportunity with honour and dignity, and participate in the celebrations of the vision that has come with jubilation. Let us rejoice over our young man and recognize in him the need to dedicate ourselves to Karamoja unity and pride, peace and progress. Let us now, from the very onset support him for this difficult and most unenviable task which he will certainly perform with remarkable ability and overwhelming dignity! My people, the Man we have been waiting for has finally come! A man with an eagle eye! A man with a noble soul! John Bosco Ngoya, MP Bokora County
