What should this reader do about her self-conscious son? let us know in the comments below and you could appear in PMU ‘My 15-year-old son used to be confident, but in recent months he’s become more and more self-conscious about his appearance. He’s tall and naturally skinny, but says he hates his body and that some other kids at school make comments about it. He’s started covering up and saying he wishes he was more muscular. I’ve tried telling him he looks fine as he is, but he is becoming more withdrawn into himself, e.g. he doesn’t go out as much as he used to. My hubby thinks it might be worth taking him to the doctor to see if he can get some help with body image problems but I’m not sure it’ll do much and might make things worse. Is it a good idea?’
