What slogan do you like better? Utah, the Saudi Arabia of the Southwest or Utah, the Outdoor Recreation Capital of the World? Why would a state want to tie its economic future to the volatile price of fossil fuels? Boom and Bust. North Dakota, Texas and Alaska on top one minute, now gushing billions in red ink. Utah must NOT become more dependant on dirty energy. We need to stop the state welfare to big oil companies. Instead of building $80 million dollar roads useless to most anyone (except for getting oil out of wilderness) and spend that money on building an eco friendly, welcoming, tourist infrastructure in Southern Utah--and with the greatest snow on earth. That my friends is a future we can count on--and that the planet can live with!
