What started as a quick easy restore project has taken a twist,,,, big surprise. This is a G Loomis GL2 that I acquired after my grandfathers passing earlier this year. It had a bad eye on it that I was about to replace, but when I took a look down the rod I noticed that the eyes arent aligned with the reel seat. Not sure if its visible from the pic, but they seem to be rotated ~1/12th of a turn counter clockwise. Additionally, when checking the spine, it appears that they eyes were installed on the inside curve of the spine. Isnt this backwards for a baitcasting rod? I really wasnt planning on rebuilding this rod from the ground up, but if thats what needs to be done Ill do it for the sake of getting this rod back on the water in honor of my grandfather. How would you go about fixing this rod?
