What the -- ? This commercial apparently got picked up for the Superbowl. Is there a xenophobia for space travel? Astrophobia, mayhaps? After this, I feel like were never going to see Mars. This ad is just one more device to perpetuate the American military-industrial complex so we can keep shoveling government money into building tanks, and missiles, and drones, opposed to further funding research programs for NASA. We should all be thinking, Space is a place of infinite possibilities worth exploring, free from petty human concepts like war or competing for meaningless trinkets, trophies, and endorsements from companies that make shoes. On the contrary, the message of this commercial is Hey kids. Space is a scary place full of monsters. Lets all stay at home where its safe and watch football. Typical Anti-Nerd / Pro-Jock propaganda. The usual anti-curiosity-and-exploration slander. Ugh. I swear, its high school all over again. Oh, and no one ruin the punchline for those who havent watched yet, but Im pretty sure sound in space needs air to travel on through vibration. (But hey, if you were Ravenclaw, youd already know that. Marked out.) I want Neil deGrasse Tysons opinion on this ad.
