What the First Lady deems appropriate and sufficient for ‘regular Americans’ is a far cry from what her daughters are fed at their private school. The Obama girls eat specially made, five-star meals gourmet meals prepared by a sous chef at school. Now, Michelle Obama wants to take her nutritional demands from the school system nationwide with major changes being suggested by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to nudge Americans to purchase healthier foods. While the “expert panel” had a supposed target of the 47 million Americans, and growing, who are on food stamps, the suggestions will impact everyone who shops at a grocery store. The Washington Free Beacon reported on this attempt by the USDA, using Michelle Obama’s guidelines, to ‘nudge’ consumers on nutritional choices.
