What the Pan??? NASCAR shell on an F1 chassis!! 1/10 Pan car - TopicsExpress

What the Pan??? NASCAR shell on an F1 chassis!! 1/10 Pan car with F1 rear tires!! Whats going on here and how does that work? To answer that we need to answer why we have different classes for racing (21.5 blinky, 13.5 blinky etc)? The aim of different classes is to control the speed of cars and make racing equal. Do it work? Kind of, but as we all know not all brands of motors of the same wind are equal. And its not just the motor. From my own experience racing racing 21.5 blinky touring cars I spent mega $$ on my car to make it fast. And it worked my car was pretty much untouchable. But again that doesnt make for equal racing. For Pan Car Oval we have been trailing, Bracket Racing (ironically something used long ago). What are the rules? Any 1/10 rear wheel drive pan style chassis no wider than 205mm. Sedan or Truck style body. Everything else is open. Motor, ESC (blinky or boost), battery (1 or 2s). Its all open. The equaliser is a minimum lap time. Break 6.6 seconds and your lap gets dropped. Yes its that simple. Does it work? We had six cars on the track last all different specs, all running close together. Made for very exciting racing. Weve had requests to run World GT circuit pans using the same format. Yes, right turns. So were going to give that a try as well. Rules. 1/10 Pan car with a GT style body. Dont break 16 seconds. Thats it.
