What they are doing is getting 5000 people to voluntarily pay a tax for every mile they travel. 1.5 cents roughly. At $1.50 a hundred miles, that doesnt seem like much. But most do this daily without realizing it. So for every thousand miles you drive thats $150. That adds up. How many taxes do people want for christmas? Clearly as many as they can handle till their kids are cold. Seems to be the norm. Otherwise a new excuse is called baby steps. Lol.
