What to do with a fuzzy picture. Should your DSTV picture be fuzzy or full of wavy lines or appear to have a second picture in the background try the following recommended procedure to change DSTV decoder output channel frequency. SINGLE-VIEW DSTV MODEL 1110 Press Menu on the remote control: There will be two parallel dotted lines on the front panel of the decoder Press 1 for Information Central (Remember: the customer cant see anything on the TV) Press 4 for uhf frequency Wait until there is a number on the front panel, i.e 46 (The DSD110 will display UH XY where XY is a two digit number) Press the right arrow until 52 gets displayed on the front panel Don’t press OK on the RCU Tune the TV for the test pattern (52 will be the UHF channel) Save it on the TV and then press OK on the DStv remote control to save the change. NB: If there is still interference on channel 52 try 53 and 54. SINGLE-VIEW DSTV MODEL 1131 Firstly, connect your DSTV decoder using RCA and NOT RF cable (in order to see the picture while tuning) Press MENU on the remote control Go to Advanced Options Go to TV installation Enter PIN 9949 Go to UHF Tuning Use the left arrow to change UHF channel from 63 to 52 or 54 Press OK to Save Press EXIT or TV until you return to a video channel and then reconnect via RF cable (the video should be visible) DUAL-VIEW DSTV DECODERS (this is for a normal installation where TV1 is connected through RCA and TV2 through RF cable): Press menu on the RCU (TV1 environment) Press 6 for advanced options Press 4 for TV installation Enter PN 9949 Press 2 for TV Installation for TV2 Press 3 for UHF Tuning for TV2 Press the right arrow to change it to 52 Go to TV2 environment and tune it for the test pattern (rainbow colours) Go back to TV1 and press OK on RCU to save the change. NB: If there is still interference on channel 52 try 53 and 54. SD PVR DECODERS (this is for a normal installation where TV1 is connected through RCA and TV2 through RF cable) Press menu on the RCU (TV1 environment) Press 6 for advanced options Press 4 for TV installation Enter PN 9949 Press 4 for TV Installation for TV2 Press 2 for UHF Tuning Press the right arrow to change it to 52 Go to TV2 environment and tune it for the test pattern (rainbow colours) Go back to TV1 and press OK on RCU to save the change. NB: To tune the TV1 UHF channel for the TV2 environment follow the same procedure above, except that for step 6, press 3 for TV Installation for TV1. Also the test pattern for the TV1 UHF tuning will be the black screen with two vertical white lines and uhf channel in the centre. If there is still interference on channel 52 try 53 and 54. HD PVR DECODERS Press Menu on RCU. Press Advanced options. Press PIN 9949. Press Equipment. Go to UHF Tuning. Press the White button on RCU. Change Unit frequency to 52. Press OK on RCU to save settings. Press Exit until back to picture. If there is still interference, repeat steps 6 and 7 and choose a different frequency. Still need help?
