What was before the big bang? Well...in my opinion..technically nothing. Time is the result of the expansion of the universe itself. So so what will happen when the universe is done expanding, and everything is in reverse? What Will be the nature of time then? If string theory is correct...then the universe posseses 9 spacial dememsions, and one temporal dimension. So we can imagine that in the beginning all the dimensions were twisted together. And as the universe expands, certain dimensions become distinguished while others dont and stay tangled together. If this Is true. Then how do we truly tell the difference between illusion and reality. Time itself is somthing we experience In one direction. Its how we make sense of things. But what makes us think that these other dimensions move in that same direction? What happends when one mixes into another...would we even notice? What you may think is reality could be somthing else entirely. For example, what you think is blue and what I think is blue could be two completely different colors...but we would never know. For what we witness with our own eyes is only ever seen by us. These are the things that cause my brain to bend and my soul to know that there is somthing so much bigger than us at work here. The universe is just a word for somthing we do not understand....and I know we never fully will. Theres simply too many possibilities and what some may not understand is that they may very well all coexist.
