What was troubling to me about the Manziel decision was the fact that everyone (including, supposedly, Jerry Jones) knew that what they needed to do this year was to finally trust their Board, and take the best player available. According to Jerry Jones when they went on the Clock at 16 Johnny Manziel was the top rated player on that Board. Jones, however, says he declined to take him because We have too much invested in Tony Romo (that investment is $107 Million). Im not going to speculate how Manziel would have worked out in Dallas, but I do know this: IF, as I believe, the Dallas Cowboys finish at 6-10 this season and last in the NFC East, the player they will be moving heaven and earth to take in the 2015 Draft will be QB Marcus Mariota (Oregon), who will very quickly make us all forget Johnny Manziel, and Tony Romo. dallasnews/sports/columnists/kevin-sherrington/20140511-sherrington-impossible-to-make-up-the-events-in-johnny-manziel-cowboys-draft-saga.ece
