What we believe about: Satan We believe that Satan was once holy and enjoyed heavenly honours; (Isaiah 14:12a, Ezekiel 28:14) but through pride and ambition to be as the Almighty, fell and drew after him a host of angels; (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:15-17; Jude 6) that he is now the malignant prince of the power of the air, and the unholy god of this world. (John 12:31; 1 Peter 5:8) We hold him to be mans great tempter, (Matthew 4:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 3:5) the enemy of God and His Christ, (Luke 22:3-4; 1 John 3:8) the accuser of the saints, (Job 1:6; 2:1; Zechariah 3:1; Revelation 12:10) the author of all false religions, (2 Corinthians 11:13-15) the chief power back of the present apostasy; (2 Thessalonians 2:8-11) the lord of the antichrist, (Mark 13:21-22; 1 John 2:22; 4:3; 2 John 7; Revelation 13:13-14) and the author of all the powers of darkness (John 14:30; Ephesians 2:2) destined to final defeat at the hands of Gods own Son, and to the judgment of an eternal justice in hell, a place prepared for him and his angels. (Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4; Revelation 12:7-10; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:1-3; 10) Satan’s Plan Doubt – Makes you question God’s Word Discouragement – Makes you look at your problems rather than at God’s provision Diversion – Makes wrong seem good so you are tempted by them Defeat – Makes you feel like a failure so you stop trying to succeed Delay – Make you put off doing something so it never gets completed
