What went wrong in Nigeria, my brothers and sisters? I agree - TopicsExpress

What went wrong in Nigeria, my brothers and sisters? I agree with Hill, With legitimacy of the government always in question, political leaders often purchased support by legitimizing bribes and by raiding the national treasury to reward allies. Nigerian leaders openly and systematically plundered the state treasury for their own personal gain. And they lavished money on personal security and handed out bribes to those whose support they covered. Corruption could be found in the political and bureaucratic apparatus of Nigeria. The present government of Nigeria has legitimized it by their action and in action. They pardon and forgive people who steal our billions of money why our people are dying in hunger. They said they will abolish prison, it means that those who steal doest need to go to jail. So they are also legitimizing crime. Do you know any country that does not have prison? They said stealing is not corruption. They said they will fight corruption with technology. For 6 good years they have promise haven and earth, what did our poor people get? Every Nigerian both rich and poor are having the effect of acute corruption in Nigerian today. Still some said its ok because of religious and tribal sentiments. I refused to be infected by that. I have grown above it. I reject it and I will never accept discrimination of any kind until the rest of my life. Everyone have right for his religion, his culture. We should never judge a tribe base on the action of few. We must always find better way to coexist with each other. If a blackman can move to Finland (white) and be free to pursue his or her dreams and aspiration and succeed. Why cant Nigerians succeed in Nigeria? The impact of corruption to material and human resource in Nigeria has been very overwhelmingly destructive to the people and the country as a whole. Nigeria is one of the worlds most corrupted country. Corruption is every day life in the private and public sector organisations in Nigeria. It has become so epidemic that it must be considered highly infectious. Its not worth it. It has become a way of life to so many people. We need change in Nigeria.
