What were we up to in 2014?: -HSAC took in 207 animals in 2014 (compared to 152 in 2013) -93 came from our community (owner surrenders/strays); 3 from surrounding county shelters; 111 came from the Burlington Shelter -5 animals were euthanized: 4 were suffering and severely ill with little or no chance of survival, 1 animal was euthanized due to unpredictable aggression. -186 animals were adopted in 2014 (compared to 130 in 2013). 120 cats and 66 dogs found their forever homes. -Our spay/neuter program served 1,196 pets with 436 being $25 or no cost. -Our medical assistance program has helped 20 families and their pets with life-saving veterinary care. -Our food pantry helped over 500 families in Alamance County feed their pets. -Pictured below: Pie chart of intakes & 2014 fosters- Hope, Emily, Cricket, Simon, and River.
