What will make you great in life is not so far away. It is within - TopicsExpress

What will make you great in life is not so far away. It is within you, only that you haven’t discovered it yet. The seed of greatness lies right within your bosom. God planted it there in the morning of creation and it is your duty in life to discover, develop and deploy it for maximum advantage and material profit. That is the secret of greatness. Your greatness is tied to your uniqueness. Greatness begins with self-discovery. The journey of self-discovery begins with introspection, meditation and the prayer of inquiry. Ask yourself some probing questions: 1. Who am I? 2. What am I here on earth to do? 3. What talent or special skill(s) do I possess? 4. Which of these skills do I perform with the utmost ease? 5. What task do I derive tremendous joy from performing? Make these issues the subject of regular meditation and prayer. Pray like Paul, “Lord, what would you like me to do?” Be sensitive enough to know when He gives you the answer. It could come in the form of an in-ward witness (an impression in your heart), a dream (an insight or revelation), a prophecy, an exhortation (wise counsel from a knowledgeable person), etc. Once you discover your purpose/potentials in life, stick to it. Work hard at developing yourself in the field of your gifting. Run along your own track. Do what you are best at doing. Derive maximum pleasure from ploughing your own vineyard and resist every temptation to jump around. Focus on what God has made you to be. Concentrate of what you know and have the ability to do best. Leverage in the area of your comparative advantage; you can’t have it better any other way. Put an appropriate price tag for the value-added. Those who need your services will gladly pay the bill, if the quality of your output is comparatively high and durable. Besides, your clients will locate you, wherever you may be. If you live a life of slavish imitation, you impose a great limitation on yourself. When you run in another man’s track, you meet with many obstacles along the way; you live in relative obscurity and may never make it to the finishing line, not to talk of winning the prize. A word is enough for the wise. What will make you great in life is not so far away. It is within you, only that you haven’t discovered it yet. The seed of greatness lies right within your bosom.
