....What words do we want to speak, what words do we want to - TopicsExpress

....What words do we want to speak, what words do we want to swallow, whats the language of the soul, how does the inner voice sound? Those questions passed trough my mind in june 2014 and resulted in this composition...But that same question is always, permanently actual..... I used my baroque violin not as a baroque instrument but as a vehicule for the soul journey I wanted to created in this composition. The baroque violin is mounted with 4 gut strings in scordatura tuning Cis-Gis-Cis-Gis. I used the basic sound close to Cis, which is the sound of “Ohm” and the sound of the heart chakra. Next tot hat I use quarter tones to express the words between the non spoken words. When tuning the baroque violin to this specifik tuning I also got suddenly inspired by the sound of the Armenian duduk that I heard yesterday. Each of the centers of spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number. This energy body contains seven power points known as chakras - spinning energy centres forming a natural mystic ladder up which a yogi must climb in order to achieve enlightenment. To arrive at that state, the instinctive energies have been lifted to the heart chakra and beyond, and the mind has become absolutely quiet…. NUCLEUS AMBIGUUS composed and performed by Ann Vancoillie on baroque violin in scordatura Cis-Gis-Cis-Gis 22/23 07 2014 The medical explanation of the nucleus ambiguus: (wikipedia) it’s a region of histologically disparate cells located just dorsal (posterior) to the inferior olivary nucleus in the lateral portion of the upper (rostral) medulla. It receives upper motor neuron innervation directly via the corticobulbar tract. This nucleus gives rise to the branchial efferent motor fibers of the vagus nerve (CN X) terminating in the laryngeal, pharyngeal muscles, and musculus uvulae; as well as to the efferent motor fibers of the glossopharyngeal nerve (CN IX) terminating in the stylopharyngeus muscle. The Nucleus Ambiguus contains the cells bodies of nerves that innervate the muscles of the soft palate, pharynx, and larnyx which are strongly associated with speech and swallowing. https://youtube/watch?v=Xm0epkir0ek&feature=youtu.be
