What would be nice would be if there was a site that had a broad panel of knowledgeable citizens or a crowd sourced a review of ALL actions explicitly authorized or pressed by each Seattle Mayor and City Councilmember, down to whether or not someone sponsors, authors, or co-sponsors a bill, amendments they propose or vote on, and so forth - and then ranked them all. In the past year, how progressive versus regressive was the body? Past two years? Five? Ten? Trending? How corporatist versus not, in the same vein? Then you can point at it and say: Mr/Mrs Smith, Councilmember for District X, began regressive but turned it progressive, or you can show that theyre deep into one side or the other from the get-go. Plaster their record out in a digestible manner, and the same for the entire City Council as a whole as well as the executive. While they all sometimes do a lot, it wouldn’t take a tremendous amount of work to slowly work backward through their records until each current member (regardless of when such a project began) originally took office. You could then look at that site, and say, probably definitively, if the given elected official is employed by the public at large or is owned by a specific lobby or set of lobbies. Hell, you could extend it to the County level, State level, and Federal level. The Washington State Report.
