What would you do: You have been diagnosed with a debilitating neurological illness. Your general independence is greatly affected. Youve been prohibited from driving, you cant go swimming, take a bath, or fly a plane. Youre limited everyday because of the disorder. There is no cure. There are drug treatments so that you can still function each day but you will never be fully independent again. Your doctor informs you that there is a new drug on the market that can help treat you more effectively than anything else available. People with your disorder that have been prescribed the drug really like it. The downside is the side effects. It can cause many issues including bed wetting, seizure, coma, slowed breathing, and various mental difficulties. It could kill you. It will not take away all the problems with the disorder, but it will help you become more functional. Do you take the risk? Why?
