What youre not seeing on the news. No they learned well in the 60s when they televised the Democratic Convention, or the protests in Berkeley then. Thats how the straights (anyone who was NOT a hippie at that time) finally got schooled as to what they had elected, what the government was really doing. And back then it turned out the majority of Americans had high morals, ethics and a sense of right & wrong and they shut down that government and they finally stopped the Vietnam War and everyone could attend any school they wanted and women were finally being recognized (to some degree, but it was a start) as equal humans and having equal rights subsequently reserved for men. But eventually when we got bored, All those dayglow freaks who used to paint the face,Theyve joined the human race. Some things will never change (Steely Dan, Kid Charlamagne). And we became a bit stagnant, and lulled into Caught between the longing for love And the struggle for the legal tender (Jackson Browne, The Pretender) we werent on guard and insidiously, in under-handed, secret deals the people who think they would be kings started the whole racist, blame game cycle again. Everything has been in motion for quite sometime now. (Great book on the subject is Shock Doctrine, The Rise of Crisis Capitalism, by Naomi Klein) That will open your eyes!
