Whatever happened to Jesus Christ in the Gospels and in His passion must happen to the Catholic Church. The denial of Christ by Peter is a prophecy and foreshadowing of three great denials of the Catholic Church. Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.” The Catholic Church has already been denied twice. Once in the Schism of the Eastern Orthodox Church in 1053. The second denial occurred in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. There is one final denial of the Church, which has not yet taken place, but is in the process of occurring now. It will be the third and final great apostasy and falling away from the Catholic Church. This will take place during the great tribulation when many will turn away from the Church and worship the antichrist and false prophet, which is the beast of Islam.
