Whatever happened to a good, old fashioned romance? Yes, I was watching an old episode of The Golden Girls and this exchange went down between Rose and Blanche after the man Blanche is dating left the house. Rose: Blanche, what happened with Jerry? Blanche: He said he wants to take things slow and have an old-fashioned romance. Rose: Take things slow? An old-fashioned romance? How does all this make you feel? Blanche: *with a look of awe on her face* Like a lady. Since when did dating today become about how fast one can round the bases, so to speak, instead of building a lasting foundation and investing in true romance? When did it become more about rushing into things instead of making a woman feel like she is valued and cherished and, well, like a lady. I think thats part of whats wrong with so many relationships today. Nobody knows how to romance each other, the old fashioned way, anymore. The best things are worth the wait. Maybe Id like to be romanced the old fashioned way when it comes down to it. It seems to be a lost art. Of course, Id have to be dating someone first. LOL!
