Whatever happened to good ‘ole fashioned flag-waving, - TopicsExpress

Whatever happened to good ‘ole fashioned flag-waving, proud-to-be-an American, three cheers for the red, white and blue patriotism, and respect for the flag and what it stands for? Disrespect for all of the above seems to be running rampant all across the fruited plain these days. Hope still springs eternal, however, especially on a North Carolina Marine Corps base in New River. This video of what some Marine Corps kids do on a playground when Colors is played will restore your faith in humanity – and the next generation. It is completely unscripted. The video was shot by Danielle Tomei Davila. She explains, “Marine Corps kids playing on the playground on base…when Colors sound this is what happens. And what SHOULD happen! This video is of my children and their friends. I filmed from my back door inside my house. It was a part of our military life I always wanted to remember. This was at MCAS New River.” Located in the eastern part of North Carolina, Marine Corps Air Station New River is a United States Marine Corps helicopter and tilt-rotor base in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Its mission is to “Provide aviation support and services, facilities and logistics, security and force protection to promote and enhance readiness, sustainment and quality of life for operating forces, tenant commands, military personnel and families.” Its motto is: “Pardon Our Noise, It’s The Sound Of Freedom.” And they’re not kidding.
