Whatever is offered to the deities, in the end is consumed by the human kind only. Whether its milk or honey, ghee or laddoos, clothes or warm clothing! The purpose of offering is purification. However, if people let the offerings flow down the drain, there may be a cause for concern. A much larger amount of food is wasted in Secular initiatives, such as fashion, cosmetics , not to speak of the meat industry .
