As the idea of a YORUBA NATION becomes increasingly worthwhile it becomes more of a necessity to consider the OWNERSHIP of such a nation. In the West the ownership dates back to the ANCESTORS as well as those referred to as PATRON SAINTS.who are chosen as special protectors or guardians over areas of life. These areas can include occupations, illnesses, churches, countries, causes -- anything that is important to us. The earliest records show that people and churches were named after apostles and martyrs as early as the fourth century. In Yorubaland, OSUN is the Patron Saint of Those In Search Of The Fruit Of the Womb. Ogun is the Patron Saint of anyone in a profession involving the use of IRON. As Scotland slowly became a nation it needed a national symbol to rally round and motivate the country.
