Whats Happening? TONS OF SATURDAY EVENTS! Today: Magic Packmaster League [$5] @ 3pm; Friday Night Magic Draft [$15] @ 7pm. Saturday: Fate RPG MeetUp @ 11am; D&D Expeditions @ 12pm; Call of Cthulhu Card Game tournament [$5] @ 1pm; Netrunner Overdrive Draft @ 2pm; Magic Homeroom @ 2pm; Pathfinder Society @ 6pm; Magic the Gathering Standard tournament @ 6:30pm. Tomorrow is unusually packed with events, so let me briefly elaborate on what is happening. At 11am were hosting a monthly-ish Fate RPG gathering for those who are fans of the Fudge role-playing system. Fate specializes in extremely streamlined play and has a non-specific setting so that it can be adapted to any type of setting. An hour later at 12pm, our bi-weekly, long-session oriented Dungeons & Dragons Expeditions game will be starting. Unlike our weekly Encounters game, expect this one to carry on for 4-6 hours. Walk-ins are welcome until the table gets full. Moving on to card games, a Call of Cthulhu LCG tournament and Netrunner Overdrive draft will be blasting off at 1pm and 2pm respectively. The Call of Cthulhu card game is based on the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft and has been around for over 5 years with a die-hard fanbase (for good reason)--unfortunately organized play these days is hard to come by. For fans of the cyberpunk Netrunner card game, the draft format brings a fresh spontaneous element to what normally is highly calculated and cerebral gameplay. Cthulhu will have a $5 entry which includes a free soda, while the Netrunner entry will be the cost of the draft packs. In both tournaments there will be playmats and other promos at stake for prizes. From then on the usual Saturday routine is planned: Magic the Gathering tutoring by Jonah at 2pm, Pathfinder Society hack n slashing in the backroom at 6pm and the usual attempts to not be wrecked in a Magic the Gathering Standard tournament at 6:30pm.
