Whats a fair price for a first wedding? What is the lowest you would do it for? I havent started advertising but was approached by someone. I was honest from the start telling him I have done the wedding photography course and a friends wedding. I quoted €850 on the advice of a friend but he came back saying it was over their budget and another local photographer does it for €600. I said great, go with her then but he has since come back saying if I do it for €500 they will choose me and there will be 9 other couples at their wedding so I might get work from it. My friend has advised me not to negotiate and as they have mentioned on a few occasions that they really like my photos he thinks they really want me and are trying to get the price down. To be honest I can easily walk away from it as Im not desperate to jump into the wedding world and would rather get some second shooter experience first. So I have no problem holding out and if I lose out so be it. I have to reply to this guys €500 email and thought Id see if any of you had any wise words before I do so. Should I bring the price down as it would be a good opportunity or is it more valuable in the long run to hold my ground? Thanks
