Whats a good example for you of a movie that was transgressive? That went against traditional mores of society in an effective way? Did the film do anything to change your thinking on the topic? Director Hal Ashbys 1971 film Harold and Maude had as its subject a love affair between a death obsessed young man (Bud Cort) and a joyous, life affirming octogenarian woman (Ruth Gordon), and evolved into a beloved cult classic thats since inspired such directors as Cameron Crowe, Alexander Payne and Wes Anderson, among others.
