Whats going on BnB Nation?! Do you have a young athlete thats near and dear to you? This summer our student special will cost you JUST $297 and gives your young athlete UNLIMITED FITNESS CLASSES from the date of sign up through Labor Day, TWO one on one 1 hour personal training sessions, and unlimited $40 pay as you go one on one sessions through Labor day; within these classes you will find Caseys (BS exercise physiology, ACE, current chiropractic student) ACTIVE RECOVERY FOR ATHLETES CLASS that boasts one hour of closely monitored and perfected techniques in foam rolling and myofacial release which will unlock the true potential of ANY BODY IN MOTION…our schedule also boasts Ronnies (BS exercise science, CSCS) custom and proprietary Burn and Blast Classes which are taylor made for any athlete looking to increase peak power and strength over duration by breaking his classes up into five 10 minute blocks giving only two minutes of rest in-between each set of dynamic, sustained movement of 10 minutes at a time…on top of that we boast Anna who is a NATIONALLY RANKED US ICE DANCER that specializes in core stabilization and plyometric training. In female sports especially we are seeing a SHARP incline in soft tissue and connective tissue tears, especially in the knee. There are reasons for this phenomena, mainly that we are specializing our young athletes sooner and sooner and the result is over use injuries unfortunately ending in major instances such as torn ACLs, MCLs, etc. A very easy way to fix this is to balance their quad/hamstring strength ratio…your hamstrings should constitute a 3:1 strength ratio to your quadriceps, however this is commonly not the case in most people let alone young athletes where it is common to see imbalances of the quads over the hams in the range of 4:1!!! No wonder these injuries are compounding at such a high rate, its not an accident its ignorance of training. Ive seen many high end sport specific training facilities where they boast specificity and individual training but do nothing more than pack WAY MORE athletes into a class than there should be, making it a cookie cutter/one fits all workout, and the oversight just does not match the amount of athletes per coaches. Stack on top of that, that most of these super training gyms are staffed by assistants overseeing your kids movements with only one or two true exercise scientists in the room at anytime and you have a recipe for disaster. At Burn and Blast we are constantly vigilant to what your young athletes are doing and routinely have two EDUCATED coaches for every 10 kids in the room let alone our very specific one on one programs. The most important job of strength and conditioning coaches are not to make your child more skilled at their particular sport…thats their specific sports coaches jobs...but, in my opinion and certainly my approach, to make sure that your athletes body is built in such a way that out of a freak impact injury you will NEVER see one of our athletes go down from an over use or imbalance injury…we are here to PREHAB your young athletes body so they are primed to be durable and their bodies will last the rugged vigor of their respected sports. We aim to put all agonist/antagonist groups in balance, strengthen their cores, and stabilize their joint saddles such as the shoulders, hips, and ankles. This is why we can boast that we have the most durable, fit, and conditioned athletes in the area HANDS DOWN.
