Whats going on up there? The game of softball is so dynamic...really, how many other sports require you to be able to excel at two different skills that are completely different defensively and offensively. I also use the term game loosely. Its really a way of life. At what point in your life do you realize how extraordinary this sport is and how amazing YOU are for being a part of it. I think thats a hard concept for girls to grasp...YOU are awesome, lets just get that out there...I cant tell you the things Ive heard..from people that have the opportunity to build a player up. My first response is basically shut up...I would like to use a different word but Im a lady...Do you know the impact you have on girls? They remember and believe everything..So first off to get girls out of their head I have some rules; -YOU can be the type of player YOU want to be-if you want to give 50%, be lazy, or be disrespectful..Thats the type of player you will be known as-a girl thats hard to coach and sits on the bench -Dont believe people that tell you your faults without correcting them. A great coach, instructor, trainer, parent may point out the things that need to be worked on but also has a solution..Stop telling people theyre slow or weak or have poor mechanics and then leave them hanging...correct them! Teach them how to get better!If you dont know how, find someone that does.. -This game is hugely mental-sometimes youve gotta leave your stuff going on in your head off the field...dont start to doubt yourself because you had a bad game. It doesnt make you a bad player, it just means you had a bad game..its ok get over it, youll have so many more games to prove yourself. Remember greatness takes time...
