Whats happening in other counties.... >>> MOMBASA COUNTY SET TO BUILD TWO STATE OF THE ART HOSPITALS. Mombasa County 17.10.2014…. Mombasa County Government is set to build County Hospitals in Likoni and Kongowea. The hospitals are aimed at providing essential medical services closer to the people especially low income areas. They are fully fledged hospitals with a total of 80 beds in each hospital. The hospitals will have 26 beds for Maternity, 20 beds for children, 20 beds for females, 10 beds for males and 4 beds for the High Dependency Unit (HDU).Other facilities at the two hospitals include an Emergency, Outpatient consisting of 3 Consultation rooms, Dentist, Eye and E.N.T (Ear, Nose and Throat). The hospitals will also have a pediatric care ward, 2 major Operation theatres and one minor theatre, 3 body cold rooms and various clinics including outpatient, TB, HIV among others. In addition to that, each hospital will have an elaborate laboratory, state of the art x-ray and Ultra sound machine, a maternity wing and a blood transfusion center. This will be specifically very strategic especially for Likoni as they will not need to cross the ferry for essential health services. how many health centers is mutua planning to build or even equip?
