Whats it going to take to deter the senseless violence undermining our communities? Today, another young man was killed in Poughkeepsie after allegedly attacking a police officer. What isnt known, but has been reported, is that the dead man was under the influence of mind-altering chemicals. What is known is that he was a former Navy Seal, a friend, a brother, a son...and that there is a mother in Poughkeepsie who will not sleep tonight and may not for many another. Also today, in a California community that is vastly different from Poughkeepsie, a young man shot and killed six and injured 13. The father of one of the victims was on national news tonight, sobbing, unabashedly. Through his tears he shared this stern warning: there are many of you out there tonight who think this couldnt happen to you. Im here to tell you that it can--that it can happen to any of you at any time. Dear God, whats it going to take?
