Whats on my mind? So asks FB. Been doing MUCH thinking recently about LOVE. It is SO easy for us to TALK about LOVE but much more difficult to honestly LOVE. Love is an overused word and we throw it around like it doesnt mean much....and yet Christ told us to LOVE our neighbors as ourselves. So how are you treating your neighbor? Not just your next door neighbor but ALL those you come into contact with?? Are you cold? Rude? Uninviting? Stand-offish? Dont have the time of day for anyone unless they can DO something FOR YOU? Whoo! Ive operated here before. So IF Christ WANTS us to have a RELATIONSHIP with HIM...AND a RELATIONSHIP with OTHERS...a relationship where we LOVE.... then we might have to ask ourselves EVERY DAY. EVERY DAY. EVERY DAY. EVERY HOUR. EVERY HOUR. What are we bringing TO that relationship??? IS it LOVE? I hope so! Is it indifference? Intolerance? Rudeness? Cruel words/actions? Heresay? Unforgivness? Bitterness? The list is long unfortunately. Jesus list is short. L O V E . So simple and yet profound. So easy and yet so hard. So everyone knows the part of 1 Corin 13 starting in verse 4 that people all use at their weddings. But have we taken the time to often listen to the first part of the chapter that Paul wrote? Not until I heard King and Countrys song awhile back had I ever really paid much attention to the first verses. 1 Corin 13:1-3 If I speak the languages of men and of angels, but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have (the gift of)prophesy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so that I can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but do not have love, I gain nothing. So life is short...it is fleeting and passes quickly. We only have a short time here so are we developing relationships HERE and LOVING here? Relationships ARE WHAT matter and LOVE makes them bloom. Hope you LOVE LOUD!
