Whats on my mind: childrens rights - Nov. 20th was the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Still a lot to do to get students, parents, educator and society at large to know childrens rights and operate from the guiding principle of the CRC, the best interest of the child. Wish our governments - all levels - would operate from that principle and assess any new or old piece of legislature or policy on its impact on the rights of children. There are instruments available to do so and ensure that government do whats right by our children, our silent citizens. After all what better investment could there be? They are our future leaders, professionals, artists and builders of the coming economy. So let me ask you - are we willing to focus and invest in the future?
