Whats on my mind right now? Cabo Verdean culture (i.e., Creole culture) is deemed to be open, relaxed, welcoming, and rich by those who have lived among Cabo Verdeans. Our nation lies between latitutes 14º and 18ºN, and longitudes 22º and 26ºW. In simple terms, it can easily located right off the west coast of Africa. The locals are spread out across nine (9) inhabited islands of the eighteen (18) islands, and they are welcoming, hard working, open-minded, and generous. Over two third (77%) of the population is ethnically Creole (including ~6% white); the remaining fraction is mostly made up by descendants of black West Africans. The successive governments make sure unrestricted freedom reaches and applies to all citizens and residents across the archipelago. The local culture which is overwhelmingly Creole ... has successfully kept any racial tensions from coming to fruition through the colonial period (1456-1975) onwards. In brief, the recipe to a healthy, integrating, prosperous, happy, and popular culture is: unrestricted freedom, full democracy, personal responsibility and acountability, high self-esteem and of course plenty of love!!
