Whats playing at the Palace Theatre 2 in Blind River?? If youve been at the site, youll notice there is no movies showing for the month ahead as there usually is..but a note to you instead**** Dear Valued Patrons Earlier this year your support was solicited to sign a Letter of Support that would accompany the Town of Blind River`s application to The Ontario Trillium Foundation, in hope of acquiring funds to convert the equipment in the Towns Theatre from film projection to digital. This application was rejected. This avenue of funding, for all intents and purposes, will not be available. IF there is to be a theatre in Blind River the Town must consider different avenues of accessing the funding necessary to retrofit the equipment they now own. The cost of the retrofit would be approximately $76,000.00. This would include 3D capability. A report to council is being prepared to determine if this is something that the council would be willing to support. YOUR support will be needed the night of this meeting. All supporters of the theatre are asked to come out to this council meeting; Please forward you name and number to the Theatre email address( [email protected]) and a supporter will phone or email you prior to the meeting. This may be the only chance you will have to show your support to maintain the theatre in our town. YOUR ATTENDANCE WILL BE THE SUPPORT NEEDED.
