Whats your answer? A Kiwi lecturer came up with this exercise: Three people go to a guest house. The receptionist tells them they need to pay a total of $300. Each then takes out $100 to make up the $300. Later, the boss says they only need to pay $250 and asks the receptionist to return the group $50. Feeling sorry for his own poor income, the receptionist quietly keeps $20 and returns the remaining $30. Each in the group gets $10 back, paying only $90 each. If $90 x 3 = $270, the receptionist keeps $20, the total comes to $290. Question: Where has the $10 gone? Note: Depending on whether you are a lay person or a Buddhist, or a Chan (Zen) practitioner, you will come up with different answers.
