*What’s Going On* A free micro-chipping event will be held in Albert Park on Saturday 5th April between 11.00am – 3.00pm. It is open to all Middlesbrough residents and free of charge. It is expected that micro-chipping of dogs will become a legal requirement later this year or early next year. Reports have been received about neighbour nuisance behaviour in Carlow Street and 2 residents have been identified as key perpetrators of the nuisance. Tenancy breaches have been completed with both concerned parties, Landlords informed of the threat of tenancy action should the nuisance continue. Noise nuisance and anti-social behaviour has been reported to the Neighbourhood Safety Officer and MBC Environmental Health Team at a property in Leinster Road. The landlord has served a possession notice, should the tenant not vacate the property the landlord has directed his solicitor to enforce the notice at Teesside Combined Court. The Neighbourhood Safety Officer has been made aware of unreported deliberate fires in Outram Street alley way. Letters have been sent to all residents whose rear access opens into the alley way reminding them of the correct methods of rubbish disposal and the consequences should they not be adhered to. A legal notice has been served on the occupier of a house in Wicklow Street after complaints about an accumulation of waste in rear yard. Failure to comply with the legal notice will result in the Council carrying out the works, and arranging to send the bill to the occupiers. Consideration will also be given to prosecution. The action has been taken using ‘Public Health Powers’.
