What’s applauded in society is exceptional the first time and will be expected the next time. Exceptional becomes Expectional. The constant endless thirst to gain applause is a form of addiction raising the tolerance within yourself and the expectations of others, which can never be satisfied. What we look to satisfy, we confuse, and fail to recognize that the very desire that drives us to look to fill this hunger, this thirst, is not of this world, but radiated from the very core of our spirit- which only our Father in Heaven can satisfy. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. - John 2:15-17
