What’s on in Tunis: June 11 – 17 As the heat begins to sweep the country this week, Tunis will treat you to a variety of activities to keep you refreshed and lively. The Tahar Haddad Club is presenting an art exhibition entitled “Que Viva La Vida” by artist Chahla Soummer. On Tuesday, the club will host a literary meeting to pay tribute to Tunisian novelist Hasib Knani, who passed away last April. The tribute will discuss his novels and his life’s work in the presence of his family. The New Arab Debates are coming back to Tunisia to discuss whether the state of Tunisia’s economy is hindering the success of the revolution. The English debate will take place on Wendesday, and the Arabic debate will take place on Thursday. They will both be recorded and broadcasted on international television. Fans of action films can watch El Gringo in 3D at Cine Jamil at El Menzah 6 every day at 8 pm. The same theater will show the Life of Pi in 3D every day at 2:30 pm. On Saturday, the Tunisian Institute of Music, the Rachidia, is holding its monthly concert at the municipal theater in Tunis. The institute is known for its long tradition of keeping Tunisian classics alive. The audience will be treated to a variety of classics that echo in the memory of every Tunisian. On Tuesday, the second edition of Mousiqa Wassalem will open with a concert by the Tunisian group Hess and Jordanian singer Macadi Nahhas.
