What’s the BIG deal about ‘Living the Ayurvedic Way’? Frankly speaking… there’s no BIG deal! Anybody can Live the Ayurvedic Way… you can do it, I can do it, he/she can do it… basically everybody can do it. A little bit of adjustment here and there, some basic discipline in our lifestyles, following a few simple routines… and we are sorted. Oh yeah… I forgot! We are all rebels. We hate the word ‘discipline’, don’t we? We love breaking the rules, we hate following the tried and tested. The bottom-line… we hate others telling us what we are supposed to do! After all, we have our own minds, don’t we? But, think about it. If your mom tells you to wake up early in the morning and soak in the Sunrise, or hit the bed by 10 P.M. latest, or not indulge in too many burgers and pizzas, or for that matter stay away from smoking or drinking, then there is a reason why she is telling you that. Not that she is a qualified Ayurvedic Expert, or a Doctor of sorts. She is just expecting you to get your basics right. And that is exactly what Ayurveda talks about. It tells you to get your basics in place. Ayurveda, or for that matter, no medicine in the world heals you or can heal you! It is your body that healsyour ailments/diseases, or in simple words ‘imbalances’. Ayurveda simply talks about restoring your bodily balance… to prevent diseases beforehand, instead of curing them later. Now your next question would be: Do I need this balance in my life? If you respect Mother Nature, then she will give you the due respect. But if you mess with her, then chances are that she will also pay back in kind. Ayurveda, a Sanskrit term made up of “Ayus” meaning “life” and “Veda” meaning “Knowledge or Science”, is a 4,000-year-old system that prescribes restoration of balance between our body, mind and soul & Mother Nature, so that our system is perfectly in sync with the nature.
