What’s the difference between accent and dialect? What do English teachers teach? What should they teach? The British Library has 71 different recordings of the British varieties, whereas an American university student classified 122 in the U.S.A. So what should teachers teach and what should students learn? I prefer the idea that teachers and students focus on exercising the mouth and then adapting the pronunciation to their specific needs.
