What’s the difference between being happy and being optimistic? This is important because none of us feel happy all the time. Happiness is a feeling. Optimism is a belief that your future will turn out well. Happiness can fluctuate, from day to day - from hour to hour. But an optimistic disposition tends to be stable. If you’re not optimistic – do what optimists do: Work toward your goals. Each accomplishment should make you feel more hopeful about the next one. That’s according to psychology professor Dr. Suzanne Segerstrom.
