What’s up Doc? What’s up Doc; the catch phrase of the cartoon character Bugs Bunny, the title of a hit comedy movie starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan ONeal and the name of a very lucky goose who now honks Edgars Mission as home. Despite her comic connections, dear What’s up Doc had little to honk about before she found her new digs. With a severely twisted beak and having been dumped at a public wetland frequented by boisterous dogs, her lot was not looking good. But thankfully a kind heart decided to take a bit of a gander down that way and was taken by the plight of What’s up Doc. And to our delight What’s up Doc does not display the customary goosey greeting, rather she shows a fondness for her new human friends. Cool facts about geese. Did you know that despite being waterfowl, geese spend most of their time on land foraging for food. They prefer grazing on short grasslands and are very loyal and protective of their kind. Their communication comes by way of their honks, which they have around 10 different sounds. A baby goose is called a gosling, a group of geese is called a gaggle and people who are kind to geese are really cool dudes!
