Wheelchair basketball is a great sport and very enjoyable. I am a recent amputee and wanted to get back into sport, as soon as I sat in a wheelchair and started on a court I was inspired. I have been training every week with the Manchester Mavericks since and wanted to bring this great sport to University students. Wheelchair Basketball is a unique sport in that it allows male and female players, whether disabled or able-bodied to all play in the same team. If you would be interested in a Wheelchair Basketball Club at Lancaster University then join this group. We are aiming to have a fully funded team and play in the British Wheelchair Basketball University League. It is played on a regular basketball court and is very easy to learn the basics of the sport. This is brand new to Lancaster University, were not professional and not looking for a Micheal Jordan. But if you think you are then youre welcome to join us too.
